Hey, I’m Skylar!

My goal is to create more than just pretty pictures. I want your photos to feel like memories you can step back into, like stills from a favorite movie that take you right back to the way it felt to be there. I’m drawn to genuine emotion, thoughtful details, and all the little in-between moments that make your story uniquely yours.

What started as something I enjoyed in high school quickly became something I couldn’t imagine not doing. Over the years, I’ve grown alongside my camera, learning not only how to photograph people, but how to create a style that feels completely my own.

A little about me

From Mobile, Alabama, a follower of Jesus, wife to Ryan, and cat mom to our two Ragdolls, Button & Muffin. :)

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me at a concert, traveling somewhere new, or spending time with the people I love.

Outside of Captured By Skylar, I also work in my church’s communications department, where I get to use my God-given talents through photography and social media to help connect our church community. I’m incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to use creativity in both my work and my ministry.

Photography has given me a way to combine two things I love most: creativity and connection. Every couple, family, wedding, and story is different, and I don’t take it lightly that you’re trusting me to document yours.
